About Amy

My passion as a lifestyle family photographer is to help you document your family’s story.  Life passes quickly and it’s important to capture moments before they’re gone. I learned that growing up in a family where someone always had a camera ready to record family life and special events.  The walls of our home were covered with art work and photography done by several generations of artists, photographers, and creative people, both professional and amateur.  Personally, I fell in love with the art of photography while learning to develop film in high school.  Over the years, my passion for photography has grown as I’ve worked to develop skills and techniques to provide quality photos for families.

I love working behind the camera lens to preserve precious memories for families to enjoy for a lifetime.  My goal is to provide a relaxed, fun and stress-free atmosphere that encourages genuine expressions of love, joy and your family’s unique personalities.  I especially like to use outdoor settings whenever possible.

When I’m not behind the camera, I enjoy spending time with friends. My passion for history is what made me want to move to the DC metro area more than 17 years ago. I also enjoy working in the community garden where I live growing all kinds of vegetables. I currently volunteer at King Street Cats Shelter and previously volunteered at the Smithsonian for more than 12 years. I am a huge sports fan, especially hockey and football. My favorite teams are the Washington Capitals and the Green Bay Packers.

I’d love to work with you to capture those special moments in your family’s story.  Thank you for stopping by.
